By 1923 Wallace stepped aside and another George, George Murdoch Wilson, a chief shareholder for ten years, purchased it. During this time Wilson changed the company’s name to Vulcan Foundry and Engineering. Wallace’s son Edgar remaining family members took over the reins eventually, keeping an active interest in the company for thirty years. In 1984 Wallace’s estate sold its total interest in the company to Manager, Noel Keely and his family. The company has gone through a rejuvenation process since Brian Kenton took the helm in the late 1980s.
