The November Festival of Arts and Plants celebrates the Geraldine's lovely gardens and its thriving craft scene. Salmon fishing November to April is available in the nearby Rangitata River, as is whitewater rafting while trout anglers are catered for with various smaller streams. specialties include handcrafted woolen knitwear and a local art follow has been set up. Locally grown blackcurrants, now recognized for their health promoting qualities, are used extensively.
