What you should know about Design Engineering
Design Engineering was established in 1991 when the Managing Director Mr Dean Van Buuren was working in the tertiary sector and was being requested on a regular basis to assist with large project inspection and welding services. The Company was launched and has quickly grown over the past 25 years to the current point where there are 20 staff in five branches, one at Christchurch , one in Timaru, one at Te Rapa in Hamilton, and the other in Dunedin. There are 5 main areas Design Engineering specialises in Calibration, Certification, Compliance , Consulting and Chartered Engineering services. Holding IANZ accreditation to ISO for Design Verification of Cranes, boilers, pressure equipment inspection and non destructive testing in UT, PT, MT RT ensures our work is recognised world wide and our highly trained staff are suitably qualified to international requirements and experienced to undertake their respective duties.
Regular annual internal external audits are carried out to ensure the Design Engineering quality management system is maintained and functioning correctly and all staff remain competent in their respective duties. It is a Statutory requirement in NZ under the PECPR regulations to have Pressure Equipment, Cranes and Passenger Ropeways inspected annually, DE have been doing this statutory inspection work since the NZ Govt disestablished the marine Industrial division of the Ministry of Transport. The NZ Government through IANZ carry out an annual audit of Design Engineering and its staff to ensure we are Competent at our work. Our Mobile vehicles enable all on site equipment that requires calibration, testing and inspection is completed with minimal disruption to you and enabling a fast and efficient turn around to get your equipment back into service quickly.
This service extends to out test lab facilities where you can courier or drop of equipment and get it x rayed, calibrated etc then returned within a short period of time. Design Engineerings Chartered Professional Engineers, managed by Dean Van Buuren and Joe Calleja offer you a professional, efficient service in Timaru, and throughout New Zealand as well as overseas through our international clients. Our team of consulting engineers can undertake a wide range of structural design and consent process PS1 including industrial residential and commercial buildings foundations and retaining walls seismic assessment and strengthening of existing buildings IEP DEE construction monitoring PS4 and peer reviews PS2 .
