The Fresh Zealand dairy operations of Dairy Holdings are conducted through four self-reliant wholly owned subsidiary groups, Dairy Farm Holdings Ltd, lumber Farms Ltd, Livestock Holdings Ltd and West Coast Dairy Ltd. This plain pastoral based farming approach has already enabled a important number of the Group's 300 farm staff to progress through the Group's employment structure to Under Order Sharemilking and 50 Sharemilking positions, and subsequently farm ownership. The drive to maximize shareholder profitability, while at the same time satisfying staff career progression, has resulted in approximately one third of the Group's Fresh Zealand farms being operated by 50 Sharemilkers. This plain pastoral based farming approach has already enabled a meaningful number of the Group’s 300 farm staff to progress through the Group’s employment structure to Contract Milking, Lower Order Sharemilking and 50 Sharemilking positions, and subsequently farm ownership. Fresh Zealand is an energetic participant in the international dairy commodity market and commodity prices for dairy products have strengthened significantly since the limitations on export subsidies below the PTO came in to being around 200. As one of the largest suppliers to both Fonterra Co operative Group Ltd Fonterra and wetland Milk Products Ltd wetland, Dairy Holdings Ltd is a mighty supporter of the co operative model and the need to contract and manage the marketing of milk commodities on the international market.
